Dayvinleigh the business
Dayvinleigh is a diverse business with many parts … a vineyard producing quality Pinot Noir, a tourism consultancy, a reliable vineyard contracting service and boutique vegetable producer.
Situated on the banks of the Wairau River in Marlborough, Dayvinleigh is home to the Johnston clan.
The name Dayvinleigh comes from a blending of first and middle names, Kevin David and Tracy Leigh.
The aim for the business is “To lead a successful and diverse business growing and creating things that represent our passion and pride for the land we call home.”
We will achieve this by channelling our energy, skills and expertise into the land to create a rewarding and enriching lifestyle for ourselves and that will inspire others.
The Golden Rules:
- Embrace the biodiversity of the land
- Act with integrity
- Recycle and re-purpose
- Be brave -give it a go
- Learn from our mistakes
- There is no such thing as too many pets
Tracy Johnston, MinstD
Tourism Consultant, Independent Director and Vege Grower
“I am a qualified marketer, experienced destination manager and organisational leader with over ten years governance experience. I have had a varied twenty-six year career in the visitor industry both offshore and within New Zealand. I am a business owner, running a vineyard and tourism consulting service where I lead and contribute to projects in NZ and in the Pacific. I have built extensive knowledge and networks within both the wine and tourism sectors and a growing knowledge of the tertiary education sector. I am proud to have gained the respect and recognition of my industry peers to confidently participate and represent them in industry forums and Boards at both a regional and national level.
My strength is in developing and maintaining relationships based on integrity, honesty and good humour. I subscribe to the theory that respectfully dealing with people and understanding the ‘why’ of opposing views generates the most positive outcomes. I take pride in being a proactive contributor to meetings with an open mind to assess situations objectively, discuss and debate respectfully, then support the decisions and outcomes made at the board table.”
